Local Special Needs Services and Resources

Redwood Coast Regional Center
The Redwood Coast Regional Center provides a wide array of services to individuals who have a developmental disability, or who are at risk for disabilities, and their families. Some of the services provided by Redwood Coast Regional Center include diagnosis and eligibility assessment, information and referral, individualized planning and service coordination, purchase of necessary services included in a person’s individual program plan, advocacy for the protection of legal, civil and service rights, and family support.

Easter Seals Northern California
Easter Seals assists more than one million children and adults with disabilities and their families annually through a nationwide network of more than 450 service sites. Each center provides top-quality, family-focused and innovative services tailored to meet the specific needs of the particular community it serves.

The Easter Seals Lake Center provides the following programs and services:
o Early intervention and Developmental Assessment 0-3 yrs
o Developmental screening, observations and referral assistance 0-5 yrs
o Childhood Lead poison education
o Infant Massage
o Medical Travel assistance 0-21 yrs
o Outreach and Education

Lake County SELPA
The Lake County SELPA is made up of the 7 school districts and the County Office of Education located within Lake County. These Local Education Agencies (LEAs) collaborate to offer a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to every Individual with Exceptional Needs.

California Children's Services
California Children's Services (CCS) is a state program for children with certain diseases or health problems. Through this program, children up to 21 years old can get the health care and services they need. CCS will connect you with doctors and trained health care people who know how to care for your child with special health care needs.
